Service vehicles from all departments covered the streets around the housing complex. Firefighters had hoses attached and ready. A source told Sleuth this was for fear of the suspect burning down the apartment.

After nearly two hours the suspect agreed to leave with police. He was carried out on a stretcher, bound in green medical restraints. During the transport he was yelling at the attending officers and EMTs, causing a brief stop in the building entrance. ESU officers poured out of the building in front of him securing the way.

He was placed in an FDNY ambulance which immediately sped out of the area. The suspect was likely suffering from mental illness and will be receiving treatment.

The remaining emergency services left quickly afterwords. The area appears to be deemed safe.

The building at 178 Bond is a residential complex containing 30 units. The tenants are sure to feel safer tonight.
